How To Create Products That Sell Out
Have you been working on products for your brand, or want to start but are unsure how you can create the best pieces that will sell out? It’s your lucky day because we are going to outline a five-step approach that you can take to sell out your products.
Many people think that they should be developing a product first, figuring out how to launch, market the product, and then sell it. But this is a BIG NO-NO! You need to take a customer-first approach from the very beginning and we emphasize this a lot here at Recloseted.
Instead of falling in love with a design you make right off the bat, put your customers first and involve them in your creative process to ensure that you’re solving one of their pain point(s) or problem(s). You do not want to be creating pieces that don’t solve problems for your customers because people will spend their money on things that genuinely relieve a pain point for them, no matter the cost. If your designs and products are not resonating with issues in their life that need to be fixed, you won’t be able to secure sales.
Here, we briefly outline the five-step approach that we walk our clients through in the Launch Your Brand Program:
Identify your ideal customer
Understand the problem
Brainstorm solution(s)
Create a solution
Make the solution
We know that as a fashion designer, you’ll want to start sketching and thinking about your designs first, but we really encourage you to do market research and find out what your customers really want from your designs and products so that you are creating thoughtful and valuable pieces that your customers are willing to spend their hard-earned money on! Conduct surveys, interviews, and questionnaires to connect with your ideal customers and hear what they have to say — then start your designs with this data in mind.
